Shevek, forgive me. You’re driving me crazy!
The worst thing is how you fall out of your world, rub your eyes for a moment, and then don’t crawl back into bed to finish dreaming the nightmare, but instead summon up this insane energy to try to understand the madness, to want to clarify it, to try to resolve it, and if that doesn’t succeed, to just carry on as if you could live with this present as well.
I remember you saying “Ava, all our senses, everything we know, tells us this is real. We can’t both be dreaming the same thing.” But that’s not the point, Shevek. The point is this, “Do we want this to be real?”
My only job is to deliver the unheard voices. Not to accept this as reality.
